Have logistics education in Indonesia in accordance with the wishes of the logistics industry?

The education about logistic in Indonesia is less good than another country. based on statement from Mr. Joko Widodo as President of Indonesia that "Indonesia is in development of Infrastructure, Indonesia must give special attention to develop their Human Resource.

Universities are regarded as the foremost place in the effort to anticipate those changes. Therefore, universities are also required to be able to change and prepare. In order to prepare qualified human resources in producing an entrepreneurship and the needs of the existing Industry.

We need to realize that currently the logistics industry needs human resources that "Plug & Play", this becomes one of the factors why logistics education in Indonesia is not in accordance with industry needs.

To answer the problem is to improve the quality of logistics human resources both from lecturers and students. The lecturer must be really a good practitioner in his field, so that the competence given to his students is a real event. As the students we should be prosecuted so as not lazy to accept the knowledge given by the lecturer, because the knowledge given by the lecturers is the most important thing of science if you want to be a good human resources of logistic.

Then, students should be able to spend more time to enter the world of practitioners, because students have more time to go to practitioners than practitioners to visit the campus, so we can not blame practitioners because the practitioners already have their own jobs. So if the campus can provide additional science to students by performing an activity such as conducting scientific or other research that can improve the insight and ability of students.

A student should be able to develop himself very well, he should be able to develop the basic sciences that have been obtained when studying in a logistics education institution. Because essentially all educational institutions in Indonesia basic knowledge is the same, but when graduates and you want to work in an industry then the needs of the industry is different, so that the human resources itself must develop the basic sciences to be in accordance with the needs of the desired industry.

The conclusion that I can make from the Student Forum at ITSCL 2017 held on JIEXPO is a stepping stone to move forward, opening the mind is learning is an endless thing. Students should run their "function" as the nation's development generator by contributing to create innovative progress, one of them with logistics, where logistics becomes one of the factors that become the reference to assess the progress of a country. Have logistics education in Indonesia in accordance with the wishes of the logistics industry? The answer is not yet, but all back to Human Resources itself, have or no desire to develop the basics of science that has been formed from educational institutions. Criticism, then solutive!
